From Family Friends to Co-Founders
We’re Caroline and Carolyn, founders of C. Skin Co. With families intertwined by stories that stretch back generations, our journey began long before we were born—a series of connections that reveal just how unexpectedly paths can cross in life.
After building successful careers in our respective fields, we reconnected over our shared passion for wellness and skincare. We realized our previous paths no longer fulfilled us and reflected on our experiences, goals, and aspirations.
This included a close look at why we address the skin in certain ways, the best treatments and equipment, and the best products to integrate with each treatment. Clients need these pieces to improve their results and overall skin health.
We each bring unique inspiration to our Southern Maine med spa. Caroline was excited about creating an opportunity to combine her background in visual art and architecture with medical aesthetic art. Meanwhile, Carolyn’s vast experience with patients with head and neck cancer drove her to explore aesthetic modalities that would enhance people’s physical and emotional well-being.
As we embark on this venture, we lean on and complement each other’s skill sets to create a new story. Our journey is defined by more than success—it is about creating a legacy for future generations. The story that started decades before continues to grow through C. Skin Co.
MEET THE TEAM
Carolyn Lebeis, MS, CCC-SLP
CO-FOUNDER
Carolyn is a licensed Speech Pathologist with advanced training in voice and swallowing disorders, practicing in Maine and Massachusetts since 2010. Her clinical background sparked a passion for skin health through her work with patients undergoing head and neck cancer treatments, where she saw firsthand the impact of medical therapies on the skin.
Driven by a commitment to science-based care, Carolyn co-founded C. Skin Co. with a mission to bring clinical excellence to aesthetic medicine. She is certified in laser safety and partners with Cynosure® Lutronic®, ensuring clients receive the highest standard of laser and skincare treatments.
Carolyn believes in the power of connection through community engagement. Through local collaborations and outreach, she fosters a welcoming environment that supports wellness beyond the clinic.
Outside the clinic, Carolyn enjoys coaching, engaging with her children’s school community, and serving on local boards.
Caroline Tortorella, LE
CO-FOUNDER + LICENSED AESTHETICIAN
Caroline’s journey into medical aesthetics and skincare began during her decade-long career as an Interior Designer. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Suffolk University and spent 10 years at a leading Boston-based firm, where she specialized in both residential and commercial projects– particularly salons and spas. Through this career, she discovered a deep appreciation for the way art and science intersect in the world of aesthetics. This realization sparked a new passion that would ultimately shape the next phase of her professional life.
Today, she brings that same eye for detail and commitment to excellence in her work at C. Skin Co., where she focuses on aesthetic services, skincare, and laser treatments. Caroline is a licensed Aesthetician, having completed her training at Spa Tech Institute, and has received advanced laser certification through Cynosure® Lutronic®.
Outside of C. Skin Co., Caroline enjoys spending time with her labradoodle, Hudson, and cherishing moments with family and friends

INJECTOR + CLINICAL EDUCATOR
Schari is a natural educator. She obtained her BSN from the University of Maine Fort Kent with a master’s degree in education from Thomas College. She has countless years of study of the human body, from pediatric to geriatric medicine.
Over the last ten years, Schari has increased her knowledge of aesthetic medicine through advanced training in injectables, PDO threads, laser treatments, and skin health. Schari is a life-long learner and willingly takes advantage of educational opportunities related to anti-aging medicine. She tailors each consultation to the individual needs
Schari is C. Skin Co.’s expert in laser treatments and injectables and has cared for countless clients in Maine. She resides in both Southern and Central Maine and enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with her grandchildren, watching sports, and following the Boston Bruins.

MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Dr. Lebeis is a board-certified urologist at Fore River Urology in South Portland, Maine. He grew up outside Detroit, Michigan, and completed his undergraduate studies in chemistry at Princeton University. Dr. Lebeis then attended Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed surgical and urologic training at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center’s Institute of Urology. During his residency, Dr. Lebeis was honored with various awards for teaching and excellence in research. He also authored several peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Lebeis has expanded his interests to medical aesthetics, specifically in injectables, laser treatments, and hair restoration. He obtained high-quality, hands-on education and certification through Esthetic Skin Institute, Inc., and completed advanced laser training at Cynosure Lutronic.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Lebeis enjoys hiking, camping, fly fishing, and time with his family.

INJECTOR
Molly obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Maine’s School of Nursing. She is certified in both injectables and dermal fillers through the Esthetic Skin Institute, Inc., and has completed advanced laser training through Cynosure Lutronic.
Outside of C. Skin Co., Molly cares for patients in the emergency room at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.
Molly enjoys spending her free time with friends, hiking 4,000-foot peaks in both Maine and New Hampshire, playing in the sand and surf (with sunscreen, of course), and visiting her 98-year-old grandmother.
